Highland Council Programme 2012-2015 The Council will support communities to be more resilient to climate change and extreme adverse weather events, by implementing the Council’s Climate Change Adaptation Strategy.
Project Aims • Provide an understanding of weather events in Gairloch and Loch Ewe in the recent past; • Assess current vulnerability to weather events; • Increase Highland Councils understanding of the impacts of projected climate change on a rural community; • Provide supporting data to enable the implementation of an Adaptation Strategy for Highland Council; • Trial information and guidance for community groups; • Develop a toolkit for use by other communities;
