Opinion: Sport Pilot License vs Recreational Pilot License Value of term Sport is perceived higher then Recreational. Sport can be performed for Recreation or Profession. When we fly for recreation we still perform a sport: As soon as you measure achievement, you potentially perform a sport. If you compare measurements you can perform a competitive sport. Sport is bound to rules. Aviation is bound to a complex set of rules. We must measure and apply rules to fly safely. Personal wellbeing is a primary goal of sport. Pilot log represents sports achievements which can be recognized by the FAI. Europe Air Sports should therefore pursue a European Sports Pilot License. KNVvL
