  1. STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO RENDERING A WALL

  2. GATHER APPROPRIATE RENDERING TOOLS To get started rendering a wall, you need to gather the following tools: Render mortar (select the right colour from a wide range of options) Shovel Chisel Trowel Scratching comb Soap Once you gather the necessary tools, you can start rendering your wall.

  3. PREPARING THE WALL Before finally applying render to the wall, make sure to prepare it in the correct manner. Remove any old render or paint from the surface, and simply chip and scrape any rough patches or bumps. Use a stiff broom and soap to scrub the wall and remove all traces of dirt, moss, and mould. Once it is done, hose down the wall to prevent it from getting too dry. Then, use a tarpaulin or drip cloth to protect the floors from splashes.

  4. PREPARING THE RENDER AND APPLYING IT Add the render mortar to water and mix it using a drill, which you can rent. Once it is done, get started rendering the wall. Use a trowel to spread the render and ensure that the first layer is precisely 0.5 cm deep. If you find these measurements tough, let professionals perform the task with their expertise and ensure a fine finish.
