  2. Content Objectives • Identify a variety of ways for students to enhance learning through hands-on practice • Create application activities that extend the learning in new ways and relate to language or content objectives

  3. Language Objectives • Design activities that integrate different language skill as students practice new content knowledge. • Discuss the importance of linking practice and application activities to specific lesson plans.

  4. Hands-On Materials and or Manipulatives • Students practice using new content knowledge. • When doing hands on activities, keep the following four questions in mind: (page 139) • How much material should be practiced at one time? • How long should the practice period be? • How often should students practice? • How will students know how well they have done?

  5. Video • What types of hands on activities did the teacher use?

  6. In the loop • Think/ pair/ share • Create a math or science problem that you can demonstrate with the Os.

  8. Are You Sleeping? • Work with content area group (yesterday) • Make a list of key vocabulary from lesson. • Create a song that reviews key vocabulary.

  9. Poetry and Patterns (99 page 133) • Write a haiku with a vocabulary word. • Create a true and false version. • Create a Tanka about your topic.

  10. Put it to use: reproducible 8.2 • Complete at table. • Share with whole group.
