  2. The Promises of God • Exceedingly great and precious, 2 Pet. 1:4 • Reliable and trustworthy, 2 Cor. 1:20 • God has given us His word and God cannot lie, Heb. 6:18 • Are we standing on the promises or sitting on the premises?!

The Promises made to the Fathers (Rom. 15:8-13) • Promised redemption in the Seed of Abraham, Gen. 12:1-3 • Turn sinners, Acts 3:25-26 • Redeemed from the curse of the law (sin and death), Gal. 3:10-16 • Of faith / Christ’s / Abraham’s seed, Gal. 3:5-9, 29 (26-28) • Children of promise, Rom. 9:6-8 • Christians, Gal. 4:28

  4. The Promises made to the Fathers (Rom. 15:8-13) • “That the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy” (v. 9) • All nations, Gen. 12:3; Acts 10:35 • Standing on the promises (Rom. 15:13) we have… • Joy and peace in faith • Hope that abounds by the power of Holy Spirit, Col. 1:5; Gal. 5:5

  8. The Promises of God • Reliable and trustworthy, giving us the full assurance of hope, 2 Cor. 1:20 • Must be “in Christ” to have the promises, Gal. 3:26-29 • Put on Christ by being baptized into Christ and become an heir of His “exceedingly great and precious promises”!
