Mycenaean Civilization • The late bronze-age culture of Mycenae that flourished 1400-1100 BC. • The Mycenaean civilization can be seen as a forerunner to classical Ancient Greece.
Trojan War • A great war fought between Greece and Troy; the Greeks sailed to Troy to recover Helen, the beautiful wife of Menelaus who had been abducted by a Trojan Prince; after ten years the Greeks achieved victory and burned Troy to the ground.
Homer • Homer is the author of the Iliad and the Odyssey, and is revered as the greatest of ancient Greek epic poets.
Myth • A traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining some natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events.
