  1. Celebrating “Aajeevika evam Kaushal Vikas Mela” May 5, 2018 A Joint Initiative Of Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship & Other Central Ministries

The Mela will be celebrated in 4000 + locations • National Level: New Delhi • State and Union Territory Levels: 30 locations (except in Karnataka and West Bengal, where State / Panchayat elections are due) • Intensive Blocks of DAY-NRLM: 4000 + Overall Objective: • Motivate the poorest of women, youth and their families, and create an atmosphere of enthusiasm • Share success stories of best performers (SHG women, beneficiaries of Skills Development) • Award best performers (women’s collectives, PIAs, bankers) • Generate awareness amongst women, youth and their families about different Government Schemes • Plan for saturation of Government Programmes, especially amongst the poorest and marginalized Honourable PM’s address to be simultaneously broadcast to all locations

National Level Event • Vigyan Bhavan • 1200 participants: SHG Women, DDU-GKY and Ministry of Skills beneficiaries, bankers, civil society, media • Plan: • Presentation of work by grassroots women workers from across India • Standees (DAY-NRLM, DDU-GKY, Skills); TV Screens in Exhibition • Award best performers: women’s collectives, Bankers, RSETIs, States • E – Launch of Milk Producer Companies, 11 RSETI Buildings, ~ 50 PM Kaushal Kendra Centres • Release of Publications: DAY-NRLM, RSETIs

State Level Events (except in Karnataka and West Bengal) • Panel Discussions, organized by State Rural Livelihood Missions • Estimated 1000 persons to attend each event: Women’s collectives, relevant Ministries, bankers, PIAs, Media, Civil Society, • Chief Guests: to be decided by the States • Indicative Plan to be finalised by the States • Sharing of success stories by women and youth • Share programme and salient work done by DAY-NRLM, DDU-GKY and Ministry of Skills • Job Offer Letters, Kaushal Punji, RSETI Bazaars • Panel Discussion on role of SHG Women and Youth in rural development • Cultural Shows • Awards to best performers

Information Arrangements at State Level • Dais with backdrop highlighting the Mela • IEC Arrangements: • Before the event: • Newspaper Ads, • Jingles on the Radio, • Messaging through Community Radio • During the event: • Screening of Films, • Display of Flex Boards detailing Government Programmes to promote livelihoods • Honourable PM’s address to be simultaneously broadcast to all locations • Arrangements to be made for broadcasting of live video stream

  6. 4000+ Blocks across India (except in Karnataka and West Bengal) • A day of celebration of livelihoods, skills development, women’s empowerment; and of work to be done • Organized by MoRD in coordination with M/o Skills Development and Entrepreneurship, M/o Textiles, Ministry of MSME • An estimated 2500 persons per Block: women’s collectives, panchayats, local political and administrative leadership, bankers, government departments, civil society, beneficiaries and prospective candidates of DDU-GKY, RSETIs and PMKVY • Indicative Agenda: to be decided by the States • Cultural shows: the evening before and on the day of the Mela • Sharing of success stories by women’s collectives • Kaushal Panjis, Job Offer Letters, Certificates • Distribution of Revolving Fund / Community Investment Fund • Awards to best performers • Presentation and discussions on Government programmes: especially on the livelihoods initiatives of DAY-NRLM, DDU-GKY, Ministry of Skills, and the Departments of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Textiles, MSME • Credit Camps • Employment Camps: by MSDE • Screening of Films
