Ablative Case • The ablative case is used for prepositional phrases and many types of phrases that translate into English as prepositional phrases • The prepositions in Latin that take the Ablative case are: sub, in (when it means in or on), de, sine, pro, a/ab, cum, e/ex. You may remember these via the acronymn SID SPACE

  5. Prepositions with Accusative Case Besides SID SPACE, all other prepositions take the Accusative Case: ad: to, toward advillam apud: at the house of, in front of, before apudarborem per: through persilvam prope: near propevillam
