Philoxenia Project Partnership: Lead Partner: Kerkini - Petritsi - Iraclia, Greece Partners: Province of Oristano, Sardinia, Italy Santa Cristina Gela, Sicilia, Italy (withdrawing from Project) Voroklini Larnaca, Cyprus Ptuj, Slovenia Malta & Gozo.
Objectives: Establish 15 micro-enterprises in each Partner Zone Establish principles of best practices Communications Offer Training & Consultancy to the new entrepreneurs Establish Network between the micro-enterprises and the Partners
The project will follow the following documents prepared by the Lead Partner: • The Common Operational Manual • The Common Communications Plan • The Business Toolbox • These documents will be customised to the local environment
The project total budget: €1,758,454 The LCA has a budget of €268,440 Under the MED programme the financial process will be carried out online on a new system called PRESAGE
The project budget of the LCA has an allocation of €67,500 to be distributed between the 15 micro-enterprises to be set up in Malta & Gozo
In compliance with the COM, an advisory Steering Committee has been established composed of representatives from: • Malta Enterprise • Employment & Training Corporation • Malta Chamber of Commerce & Industry • General Retailers & Traders Union • Malta Council for Economic & Social Development • Bank of Valletta, plc • Department of Commerce, SME Unit • Foundation for Women Entrepreneurs (MALTA) • Representative of the local media
The Steering Committee will: • have an advisory role in the project • provide the required networking to increase awareness about the project • cut down the bureaucratic hurdles of setting up a new business • provide assistance to the new entrepreneurs • create a new experience in entrepreneurship • meet at least twice a year
The LCA believe this is a great opportunity for LOCAL COUNCILS to work on sustainable development LOCAL COUNCILS (identified as RURAL) will have the opportunity to nominate entrepreneurs to participate in the project The economic sectors are open but preference will be given to artisan, food, cultural, tourism and technology sectors
