All Our Childhoods • Past childhoods from the Victorian era to present day • Represented through photographs, ceramics and paintings • Toys, games and dolls from the past • Child workers represented through materials and objects common to the child
Alan Rankle • Born in Oldham • Focuses on landscapes and countryside • He communicates on a number of levels • Focuses on intricate detail • His work is contemporary and exciting • Focuses on image of landscape from far away • Use of colour, contrasting • Doesn’t seem to plan out what he paints • Gallery has displayed Alan’s work in colour schemes and size of paintings
