Behold He Cometh Rev 1:4-8
Rev 1:4-8 - The Salutation John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Invoking God’s Blessing (vr. 4-6) • Grace – found favor. • Peace - no strife

Christ's love is ever present • Washed - loosed. abathing, and aransom, both of which express the central benefits which redound to us through the sacrifice and death of Christ. • Kings - akingdom. The term King is never applied in the New Testament to individual Christians. The reigning of the saints is emphasized in this book. • Priests - In the kingdom of Christ each individual is a priest. The priest's work is not limited to any order of the ministry. All may offer the sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving: all have direct access to the holiest through the blood of Jesus: all Christians, as priests, are to minister to one another and to plead for one another. • Glory and dominion -all glory; that which everywhere and under every form represents glory and dominion. The glory is His. In the sacred writers always of agood or favorable opinion, and hence praise, honor, glory • Forever and ever - untotheagesoftheages. It is the formula of eternity. • Amen (ἀμὴν) The English word is a transcription of the Greek and of the Hebrew. A verbal adjective, meaning firm, faithful.
The Promise Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
The Aspects of His Coming • His coming is Certain - He cometh with clouds • His coming is Public - Shall see him • His Coming is Universal – • His Coming is Horrifying - Shall wail because of Him
The Declarations • The Declarations - Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. • Alpha and Omega • The Lord • Which is • The Almighty
