  3. How much do you need? • Decide on your plan of work • Fall Rally • FLC • SLC • NLC • Other trips • Compute cost of trip per student • Transportation • Lodging • Registration • Who pays for advisor? • Establish minimal participation number and deadlines

Establish individual “accounts” Make student responsible for themselves Tell student up front how much they will make for their “account” from their sales For fundraisers like candy sales – ask each student to make commitment on sales and order based on their committment How do I motivate students?

Concessions • Have students bring items to donate • 100% of profits go to student’s “account” • Buy at Sam’s, Costco, or on sale • Big profit items: • Gwaltney Beef Hot Dogs (~$9/24) sell for $1 • Over 50% profit. Cook in crock pot • Ice Cream Sundaes – sell 2 scoop sundae $1 • Large tub (~$5 at Wal-Mart) • Chocolate and Caramel syrup, sprinkles, whipped topping

  7. Chocolate • Gertrude Hawk • Bars • Variety carrier – 48 bars • Seasonal catalogs • Easter • Christmas • Company will establish online order site for your school

  8. Mixed Bag Designs • Bags from recycled materials • Order catalogs • Company will allow you to order samples at whole price • Company is very customer service oriented • Company is BIG HOSA supporter

  9. Spices • Con Yeager Spice Company • Various spices, rubs, etc. • Great for districts that aren’t allowed to sell candy

  10. Candles • Abby Candles • Soy based candles • Company is BIG HOSA supporter

  11. Ozark Delight Gourmet Lollipops • Lots of flavors • Comes in bags of 50 • Sell for $1 ea. • Also have sugar-free version but is more expensive • Company is BIG HOSA supporter
