Interstandard Roaming: The best coverage no matter the technology Key factors in the development of Interstandard Roaming Vivo’s choice Different Options • TIM Brasil was chosen to provide domestic Roaming • Telefonica Moviles was chosen to provide Roaming in more than 160 countries. GSM Sponsor Operator • Direct agreement for domestic Roaming • Agreement with a GSM sponsor operator for international Roaming Signaling/ Clearing translation • Possibility of contracting the full service from Syniverse or Verisign, or; • Buying a platform for signaling translation and contracting only the TAP/CIBER conversion from Syniverse or Verisign • ZTE platform was bought to provide the signaling conversion; • Syniverse providing the TAP/CIBER conversion SIM Cards • A single SIM card with two GSM IMSIs: • - VIVO IMSI for domestic Roaming, given by the Brazilian regulatory commission (ANATEL); • Sponsor GSM IMSI, for international Roaming, provided by a GSM sponsor operator; • Axalto was chosen as the SIM cards provider; • SIM cards produced in Brazil; • Already adapted to R-UIM implementation. Handset • Motorola A840 is already in use by individual and corporate customers; • Vivo lands a Motorola V300 (GSM only) to the customers who don’t have a Worldphone. Two options to the customer: - Single handset: Worldphone CDMA/GSM, or; - Additional GSM handset for GSM roaming only All the different areas in the company participated in the project, which took 6 months to be completed.

Interstandard Roaming: The best coverage no matter the technology Next steps Next steps Today’s Situation Data Capability • Already under development internet access, WAP and MMS. • Support for voice and SMS only. New Handsets • New handsets and Data devices under development for the very specific Brazilian needs; • No need to select GSM or CDMA mode. • Motorola A840; • Landing of a Motorola V300 to the customers without a Motorola A840. Better tariffs • Establishment of direct agreements is already possible, allowing better tariffs in the most important destinations. • For International Roaming, there is always a markup been applied by the Sponsor operator Sharing the infra structure • A commercial proposal for other carries interested on sharing the infrastructure will be released. • The ZTE platform has been shown as a robust solution, allowing much more traffic over it. Although many improvements were achieved with the challenging project, there’s still a lot to be done in order to make the solution even better. Vivo is also able to help other carries on deploying it.
