Emissions are gasses such as sulphur dioxide and nitrous oxides from vehicles, factories and power stations. • Transport wind moves the emissions away from the urban industrial areas. • Transformation the emissions mix with water in the atmosphere to form weak sulphuric and nitric acids. • Depositions the acids come back to earth as acid rain, mist or snow. • Sensitive ecosystems often deposition occurs a long way from the emissions in non-polluted, unspoiled areas where they are much more dangerous.
