  2. Resin tapping • Resin is a hydrocarbon secretion of many plants (particularly coniferous trees). • Resin tapping - it is regular demanding of healthy trees stems before the final cutting in case to receive resin products.

World history • The resin tapping begun 3 000 years ago in Greece (Pistacia terebinthus L.); • The French begin to use coniferous for resin tapping in IV century; • In XIV century the resin tapping become the industrial in Spain, France, Portugal; • In XVIII century North America become the most important resin producer in the world; • The resin tapping spread over the world in XIX – XX century, except the Canada and Scandinavian countries.
