Determining the Scope and Form ofCensus Data Dissemination Factors for Consideration: • Usefulness of data; • Convenience and ability of the data users to use and interpret the statistics properly; • Technology advancement; • Data confidentiality; • Public awareness and accessibility of users.

Determining the Scope and Form ofCensus Data Dissemination Consultations with major users, including government bureaux and departments, academics and other organisations: • data dissemination plan; • proposed products and services to be delivered; • release schedule; • list of core tabulations. 

  4. Determining the Scope and Form ofCensus Data Dissemination Strategy: • different media for different user groups; • emphasizing the service principles of friendly access and prompt delivery.

Determining the Scope and Form ofCensus Data Dissemination Form of Census Data Dissemination: • Press conference to announce the summary findings, so as to draw attentions of the general public and mass media; • Analytical publications to provide more in-depth; •  All publications freely available on website;

Determining the Scope and Form ofCensus Data Dissemination • CD-ROM bundled with GIS software to facilitate spatial analysis; • Online Interactive Data Dissemination System (IDDS) on C&SD’s website – enable users to prepare statistical tables according to their specific requirements; • Tailor-made tabulations for researches conducted by the academic community or external parties;

  7. Determining the Scope and Form ofCensus Data Dissemination • Self-help tabulation services (STS) at the premises of C&SD, can access to the full dataset of the Population Census/By-census; • Business partnership with the business community, to re-disseminating official statistics.
