I. Excel Basics Review • Navigation • Enter – down a row • Tab – right one column • Shift + Tab – left one column • Arrow keys – up, down, left, right • Ctrl + Home – beginning of document • Ctrl + End – end of document • Type coordinate/name in Name box
I. Excel Basics Review • Common commands • Undo/Redo • Select (all, row, column, cell) • Moving (row, column, cell) • Inserting/Deleting (pics, row, column, cell) • Functions • Always needs this symbol at front • Coordinates and operators: + - * / • (Auto) Sum • Average, Count, Min, Max

Excel part II • Sort and Filter • Type in “Money Earned Per Hour” data in a way that makes sense to your eyes. • Select your data including column headings • Click Sort and Filter then Custom Sort • Choose two (or more) columns to sort by. Remember you have to add a level to do the second sort. • Click okay and see the results.

Excel part II • Calculations • Logical operators (>, <, =, <>(not equal), >= (greater or equal), <=(less or equal)) Set them up like this: =cell reference, logical operator, cell reference to get TRUE or FALSE response. Example: =A2>B2 (If the value of A2 is greater than the value of B2, then the cell will show TRUE. If not, it will show FALSE.) • Multiple worksheets –data on sheet 1, calculations on sheet 2. • Relative, Absolute, and Mixed References (if formula copied, refs stay the same or change?)

Excel part II • Charts & Graphs • Design Tab-Change Chart Type (bar to pie to line etc.), Save As Template (create a template to re-use with other data), Switch Row/Column (change which data is used for horizontal/ vertical graphing), Select Data (change what information is used in the graph), Quick Layout (information formatting), Quick styles (graphics formatting), Move Chart (to another sheet or on its own sheet) • Layout Tab • Format Tab-

Excel part II • Charts & Graphs • Design Tab- • Layout Tab-Format Selection (add formatting just to selected area), Reset to Match Style (eliminates custom formatting and goes back to default), Insert (Pictures, Shapes, Text Box), Labels (Titles and Labels on chart), Axes (alter axes and gridlines), Background (add color/ pictures to chart background, rotate chart to 3D format), Analysis (mark trends), Properties (name the chart for advanced functions) • Format Tab-

Excel part II • Charts & Graphs • Design Tab- • Layout Tab- • Format Tab-Format Selection (add formatting just to selected area), Reset to Match Style (eliminates custom formatting and goes back to default), Shape Styles (change shape and color of chart), Word Art Styles (add/modify Word Art) Arrange (order of components – think of them as overhead slides), Size (measurements of the chart) • Copying into Word
II. Excel part II • Charts & Graphs • Design Tab- • Layout Tab- • Format Tab- • Copying into Word-Select section to copy, click copy, go to Word, click paste. OR use the Right Click command to copy and paste. This way you can create a chart in Excel but use Word as a Word Processor for the rest of your document.

Excel part II • Formatting • Convert Text to Columns- Converts word processing data into a table • Split worksheet- Lets you see separate parts of worksheet at same time. • Freeze row/column- Keeps row or column in same place as you move elements around it. • Hide worksheet-hides the worksheet • Conditional formatting- formats data based on conditions you set.

Excel part II • Printing • Headers/Footers – what will print at the top/ bottom of each page • Print titles – keeps column headings the same on each page • Print range – print only part of your document • Other Features • Templates – File, New, Choose a template • Saving format (.xls vs. .xlsx) • Hide/unhide columns
