  3. Discerning the Voice of God • He speaks to us with the intimacy of familiarity. 2. God is Personal

  4. Discerning the Voice of God • “You’ll know the Spirit is speaking to you personally about your sin when the feeling you get is not despair but a fresh desire for holiness and purity.” 2. God is Personal

  5. Discerning the Voice of God • When God speaks to you, His voice, that same voice that calmed raging storms and healed the wounded and sick, brings peace. 3. God Brings Peace

  6. Discerning the Voice of God • “Doing things the easy way will never stretch you, will never force you to draw on His resources (the very goal He has in mind for you), and will not cause God to be most glorified.” 4. God challenges us

Could it be that you’re having trouble discerning God’s voice because you’ve somehow bypassed the need to know who He really is? • Have you been “voice hunting” more than “God hunting”? • Has knowing His will taken precedence over just knowing Him?   8. Will it contradict the truth found in Scripture? • Will it cause me to indulge in sin of any kind? • Will it encourage me to hypocritically cover up my sin? • Will it give glory to God by magnifying His truth the people involved? Discerning the Voice of God 5. God Exudes Truth

  10. Discerning the Voice of God • If we know Him, all we have to do is keep our ears open, and we will hear His voice. 7. There’s No secret code to hearing God
