  2. You Want It! We Got It! • This is a unit on market research. Students create and conduct surveys as well as analyze the results of their surveys. Students will draw conclusions from the results of their data. Students present their findings and come up with a product to “sell”. They will create posters and a commercial on their product. This is a unit on marketing.

  4. Scope and Sequence Mathematics Grade 8 GEOMETRY AND MEASUREMENT CONCEPTS • Estimate, make, and use measurements in real-world situations. STATISTICS AND PROBABILITY CONCEPTS • Collect, organize, and display data with tables, charts, and graphs that are appropriate for the data, including histograms, broken line, circle graphs, stem and leaf plots. • Interpret graphs, tables, scales, and charts by making comparisons and calculations. • Analyze data with respect to frequency and distribution. MATHEMATICAL PROCESS • Apply basic math skills to real-world situations. • Talk about the uses of mathematics and its importance to their present and future lives. • Explore the use of appropriate mathematical tools and technology Language Arts, Grades 4-8 SPEAKING, LISTENING, AND VIEWING • Listen to an oral presentation and analyze what the speaker did to persuade the audience. • Take turns speaking, respond to each other’s questions and comments, and work together to come up with group decisions and ideas. • Share data, facts, and ideas, and back them up with sources and explanations to persuade a listener.

Math, Science, Technology Standard 2 - Information Systems: Students will access, generate, process, and transfer information using appropriate technologies.
