This meeting addressed ongoing resistance, courts, and monitoring progress in the Olmstead/Community Living initiatives. Topics included nursing homes, employment for children and young adults, expansion of Olmstead, and congressional oversight. The meeting also covered the repercussions of the DOJ Interim Settlement Agreement and the use of questionnaires to assess employment supports. The issue of guardianship and the role of various organizations were discussed, as well as representative payees and transportation as key factors in community integration. The report findings on psychiatric residential facilities for children and education issues were presented, along with discussions on seclusion and restraint, the school-to-prison pipeline, sheltered workshops, and children in state custody.
