  1. A tool for assessing the feasibility and impact potential of Rare project plans BRAVO: Barrier Removal Assessment and Viability Overview New Design and Technologies of the Wood-saving House in Yunling Township of the Meili Snow Mountain Economics Technical Cultural/Political Impact/Metrics

  2. What: Local Tibetan people enjoy conspicuous consumption and build large wood houses in traditional Tibetan styles. To eliminate this primary threat to the local coniferous forests(mainly spruce and fir trees), such behavior of wasting wood resources must be curbed. House designs and technologies that save wood resources must be promoted. Advocacies for saving wood resources in building houses will be further emphasized in the Rare Pride Campaign activities. The project will be implemented in collaboration with the Rural Green Architecture Institute of Kunming University of Science and Technologies, the DeqinCounty Forestry Bureau, the Deqin County Construction Bureau. Activities to promote the new concept and technologies will be conducted in partnership with the Rural Green Architecture Institute of Kunming University of Science and Technologies. Who: The Rural Green Architecture Institute of Kunming University of Science and Technologies, and the Green Architecture Project of the Nature Conservancy. When:The Meili Snow Mountain Rare Pride Campaign is expected to demonstrate the new design in Yunling Township, and alternative construction materials will be introduced to the villagers and then be utilized. How: The Rural Green Architecture Institute of Kunming University of Science and Technologies, and the Green Architecture Project of the Nature Conservancy are the BR partners assisting in building the demonstration green architectures.
