  3. Identifying Units • Determine which unit you are measuring (length, weight, or capacity) • Choose the most appropriate unit within that measure. • Be careful: ounces measure WEIGHT, but fluid ounces measure CAPACITY.

  4. Strategy • When converting from a large unit to a small unit, multiply by the conversion factor. • When converting from a small unit to a larger unit, divide by the conversion factor. • Set it up in proportion form.
