Alvin High School Old Discipline Chart • The assistant principals see students in their office everyday dealing with various issues from grades, attendance, and school discipline. • At times school infractions run together and office visits seem to be a blur because of busy schedules. • The old discipline chart that was used at Alvin High School only listed infractions and consequences. Leaving it up to the principal to intemperate what the, school district code of conduct, the Texas Education Penal Code, and the State of Texas Penal Code mean in regards to the infraction made by the student.
Alvin High School New Discipline Chart Every Infraction has a hyperlink to the Texas Penal Code, Education Code, or Alvin ISD Handbook or Policy. Some Consequences are being reevaluated by the administrative team.
Alvin High School New Discipline Chart Level III Infractions ADAPT is the alternative placement school in Alvin ISD.
Benefit to the Staff, Students, and Parents • By having the hyperlinks available at the click of a mouse the assistant principal will be able to justify decision making with easy access to Penal Codes, Educational Codes, and the Student Handbook. • This is also information that can be shown to the students or parent to justify decisions or make clear the expectations of students at Alvin High School. By doing the school will run with a solid foundation in discipline leading to a more effective learning environment.
