  1. My Name is Emma Tran Act Local Project November 2013

  2. The purpose of the project was to donate books and money to the Pedi Place , which is a pediatrician’s office . A pediatrician is a doctor who helps children. This clinic provides basic medical needs for children at a low cost.

  3. Signs • The first thing we did was make signs and stood in the neighborhood to get people to donate money and books. We also had a raffle to encourage people to donate. We raffled off prizes like an electric toothbrush, Papparella’s popcorn, and Cake Bites.

  4. The total amount we raised was $75 and about 100 books. Then we spent the $75 at Big Lots and bought 80 more books. We then sent all the books to Pedi Place.

  5. Impact on Community • We donated books so that each child will have a book to read at Pedi Place. Many of these children don’t have a lot of money and hopefully the books we have given can make it a better place.
