The following slides will tell you which assignments you should have completed.
Lesson 1 • Researching and defining the following essays: Narrative, Expository, Descriptive and Persuasive/Argumentative. • Creating a PowerPoint resource for the definitions.
Lesson 2 • This was your first expository essay. This was your way of showing me what you know about writing this type of essay. • You read an article on how the United States is doing in education compared to the rest of the world. • You wrote an expository essay on this article.
Lesson 3 • Learning how to write an essay using the “hamburger paragraph” structure. • Understanding how to write a Descriptive Essay • You created an essay about a place you enjoy going to or something you like to do.
Lesson 4 • Your first quiz on the parts of the hamburger paragraph and also recognizing the four different essays. • Watching several videos about expository writing (just the facts), how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and how to make an omelet. • Write an essay in Microsoft Word on “How to Make an Omelet”.
Lesson 5 • Link to the structure of an expository writing. • Instructional video on Inspiration. • Create a Inspiration on “how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich”. • Read the science article on the class blog. • Create an outline the article (about the new type of beef) in Inspiration. • After you have outlined the article, your will write an expository essay in Microsoft Word.
