Vindicate • Vindicate is a verb that means to prove something right or prove innocence. Vindicate is mostly used within lawyers or judges concerning someone in jail or legal issues. A couple of synonyms of vindicate would be absolve, exculpate and exonerate. An example of Vindicate would be if a judge vindicated a man who had spent 2 years in jail, after discovering he was completely innocent of the crime he was accused of. In example in my everyday conversation using vindicate would be if I was accused of doing a mess in my house but my brother admitted to doing the mess instead of me and I told my mom and dad I was “vindicated” from doing that mess
