Who was Rube Goldberg? • He poked fun at technology by making things too complicated. • His work was used by others in the cartoon “Tom and Jerry,” the movie “Goonies,” and the game “Mousetrap.” • He was born in San Francisco.
His first job after graduating from University of California was for the City of San Francisco Water and Sewers Department. • He later got a job as an office boy in the sports department of a San Francisco newspaper and moved to NY to start drawing cartoons. • He held human needs and values as a top priority in his life.
