Why Certify? • To show your commitment to the profession • Show what you know • Build your network • Gain knowledge in all disciplines of HR • Professional development • Have fun while learning • Know more than your lawyer • Receive a cool lapel pin • Impress your boss • Add PHR or SPHR to your email signature

Requirements • December 2010/January 2011 • PHR and SPHR require 2 years of exempt level HR experience • May/June 2011 – New Requirements • PHR • Masters’ plus 1 year exempt level HR experience; or • Bachelors’ plus 2 years exempt level HR experience; or • 4 years exempt level HR experience • SPHR • Masters’ plus 4 year exempt level HR experience; or • Bachelors’ plus 5 years exempt level HR experience; or • 7 years exempt level HR experience

  5. Study Group • Ten facilitated study sessions • Covers all six areas of the HR discipline • All facilitators are PHR or SPHR certified • Study materials available • Practice tests available • Active participation – not lectures • Adult learning principles utilized • FUN, FUN, FUN

  6. Next Study Group • Starts September 15, 2010 @ 6:00 PM • Runs 10 consecutive weeks • 1.5 hour sessions • Location – Tucson Medical Center HR 2695 N.
