Sophomore Year Tasks • Make your classes your priority; maintain high grades • Stay involved with extra-curricular activities • Start to compare your options; 2-year college, 4-year college, military, trade school, work force. • Start to explore colleges: majors offered, size, location, cost, programs, visit schools, talk with current students, visit school websites, etc. • Start looking at SAT/ACT/ASVAB prep. • Volunteer

Dual Enrollment Opportunities STEPS FOR DUAL ENROLLMENT 1. Fill out RCC application 2. Schedule placement exam with Mrs. Wells/Mrs. Dunderdale 3. Take placement exam 4. Meet with Mrs. Wells to review results of placement exam and register for classes if applicable Available Classes Business classes at CBHS (Intro to Computer Information Systems, Business Management) Onsite classes at RCC (College Composition 1, College Composition 2, Psychology, Sociology, US Government, Internet Systems, etc.)

Wait for responses… • Make the Final Decision and respond to schools. Spend Your Summer Break Wisely THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO GET AHEAD! • Take a community college class • Coach or assistant coach for local sports • Volunteer regularly (shelters, retirement homes, local events, etc.) • Get a part-time job or work at a summer camp (or both!) • Join an organization (Colonial Beach Foundation) • Study for the SAT/ACT: take timed practice tests to raise your score • Volunteer at our school • Visit colleges in groups, keep track of what you like/dislike
