  2. A. S. Pushkin is one of the famous and greatest poets. He was born in Moscow in 1799. When Sasha was a small boy he spent a lot of time with his nurse. She was a simple Russian woman, but she loved the boy, paid a lot of attention to him, she told him many tales.

  3. A. S. Pushkin began to write poems when he studied at school in Petersburg. Famous poets of that time liked his poems very much. Soon A. S. Pushkin became one of the best poets of Russia. He expressed the advanced views of the young people of that time.

  4. He worked a lot. He wrote a lot. Pushkin hated autocracy and he expressed it in his ode “Liberty”(1817) • Pushkin loved his motherland and he showed his patriotism in the poem “A vilage”(1819). A. S. Pushkin wrote a poem “Ruslan and Lyudmila” in 1820. This poem made a great impression on readers and critics. An outstanding poet V. A. Zhukovsky assessed at its true value.

  5. Pushkin finished the first chapter of the famous novel “EvgeneyOnegin” in 1823. but it appeared only on the 15th of June in 1825. This novel in verses is the main work by Pushkin. It was written during seven years, four months and seventeen days. He finished it in 1830. The whole novel was published only in March, 1833.

  6. Pushkin wrote many poems. The government did not like such poems, and A. S. Pushkin was exiled to the South of Russia(1820-1824), then to the village near Pskov (1825-1826). • A. S. Pushkin travelled a lot from 1826 till 1829. but he was alone, his life was uncomfortable. He was free, but he couldn`t go anythere without the government`s permission.

  7. Pushkin had enemies. One of them, Dantes, tried to insult poet's wife. Pushkin decided to defend his own honour and family's honour. It was a duel with Dantes in 1837. Pushkin got a fatal wound and died in February, 1837.

  8. Pushkin wrote poems, novels, stories many years ago, but they are popular nowadays and millions of people admire them. Some of his novels are staged in theatres. His books play an important role in the development of literature and culture in our country.
