ONLINE – SUMMER SESSION 2—2013 GENDER AND SOCIETY (SOCI 3030) Writing intensive This course examines the social and cultural aspects of human identity as expressed through gender, sex, and ethnicity. Focus will be given to the ways in which regional, ethnic and gender identities are celebrated, contested and regulated cross-culturally. Attention will be given to the impact of dramatically changing local and global landscapes on women and men, and varied ethnic communities. Instructor: Melissa Schrift schrift@etsu.edu
