New Zealand Police Presence in the Region • The New Zealand Police also have about 80 police officers serving overseas at any time, through their International Service Group (ISG). • Liaison Posts: Bangkok, Beijing, Canberra, Jakarta, London, Sydney, Suva and Washington • Secondment: Niue, Solomon Islands and Hawaii • TCUs: Niue and Cook Islands • Operations: Afghanistan, Bougainville, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Timor Leste and Tonga • The activities of these New Zealand Police officers are generally similar to those undertaken by Australian Federal Police officers. The roles of the AFP and NZP officers in the region are complementary.
