Innovation Technology Platform • It is a web tool developed by Dintec and Unioncamere to foster SME activities in the field of innovation and technology transfer • It is used to promote and support interaction between enterprises, Patlib centers and Chambers of Commerce • It gives up to date information on IP issues: • events • legislation • databases • It gives the opportunity to subscribe to the technology monitoring service and IP newsletter Web site: http://www.innovazione.dintec.it
Technology monitoring: Patnews • It is a free online technology alert service managed by Dintec on behalf of the Chambers of Commerce; • It was developed to help SMEs to identify relevant EPO applications and extract strategic information. Patnews could answer to the following issues: • What is the latest technology developed in my field of interest? • Who is the most active player for a specific technology application? • Who are my direct competitors in the technology arena?

Patent and Trademark Observatory GOALS The Italian Patent and Trademarks Observatory (PTO) is a Unioncamere project, managed by Dintec, with the following goals: • To analyse industrial property scenario of Italian applicants: companies, inventors, Universities and research centers; • To compare Italian technological trends and performances with that of most industrialized countries (for example G8 or G12 countries) • To discover emerging technologies • To disseminateinformation about Italian innovation behaviour OUTPUT • databases of the published European patent applications (Italians appl.) and Italian OAMI filed trademarks; • statistical analysis with technical and scientific comments; • annual report about patent and trademarks observatory; • data analysis support for relevant topic such as “Italian mediummanufacturing companies”.
Patent and Trademark Observatory DATABASE It is built on data extracted from: • Italian patent application published by EPO (weekly updated) • Italian trademark applications filed to OAMI in the period 1999-2008 IPTS data can be segmented on several parameters, such as: • assignee (company, University or Research Institute, physical person); • geographical area (area, region, province, postal code); • economic parameter (integration with Unioncamere databases for revenue, company dimension, etc.); • product and service classification (Nizza code); • technology classification (IPC code).
