  1. 6 Carpet Cleaning Myths Every Carpet Owner Must Read

  2. Vinegar cleans the carpet: Vinegar is usually recommended as a natural substance to clean carpet. Though it’s a disinfectant, it can’t abolish stains. A lot of people recommend using vinegar alongside baking soda. However, this will probably not eliminate stains either. You’ll just end up with a paste that you’ll have a tough time removing. You shouldn’t vacuum your carpet often: Many people believe vacuuming the carpet is bad for it. However, modern carpets have been built to endure a lot of vacuuming. In fact, vacuuming your carpet is one of the best things you can do to keep it clean. You should vacuum your carpet at least once a week. However, high-traffic areas may need to be vacuumed every day.

  3. You can use hair spray to clean your carpets: Hair sprays are designed to be used on hair. It’s not designed to be used on carpets. Hair spray will leave a residue that you don’t wish to have on your costly carpets. If this residue isn’t removed, then it’ll attract dirt and contaminants. Moreover, hair spray can prompt permanent damage to your carpets. New carpet doesn’t need to be cleaned: It’s purely a myth that if your carpet is new, then it doesn’t need cleaning. Even if your carpet seems clean, it may still be dirty. New carpets hide stains well. Therefore, you should have your carpets cleaned professionally every 6 to twelve months.

  4. Dish Soap can be Used to Clean Carpet You shouldn’t use dish soap on carpets. Dish soap is supposed to get rid of grime, grease and food from dishes. The soap is rinsed off after the dishes have been washed. Carpet does not have a rinse function. Many people mix dish soap with water & find that the stain is worse than before. Ammonia can be Used to Clean Carpet Ammonia is a high-alkaline solution. Any high-alkaline solution will cause stern damage to your carpets. Not only is ammonia damaging to your carpet, but it is also poisonous. It can create a smell that can cause respiratory issues if it is inhaled.
