What is Christmas in China? • In China only one percent of the people are Christian, there for it isn't really celebrated there, but for those that do celebrate it, they have their own ways of doing things. In China “Sheng Dan Lao Ren” means Santa Claus. In China happy/Merry Christmas is “Sheng Dan Kuia Le”.The Chinese that celebrate Christmas also like to go Christmas caroling! Even though they do not understand much, Jingle Bells is very popular in China! The Chinese Christians also go to midnight mass on Christmas. One popular, yet strange tradition in China is giving apples on Christmas eve. This is because Christmas eve in China is called “Ping An Ye”,which sound similar to “Ping Guo” or apple in Chinese.

  3. Wrapping it up • Christmas is celebrated much in China, but it is becoming more well known! China is one amongst the many countries that don’t really celebrate Christmas, but either way every country has its own unique way of celebrating it’s Christmas.
