  2. The infinitive? • What is the ‘infinitive’ form of the verb? • It’s the form before it is conjugated - when it still has the –ER ending

  3. Aimer, Adorer & Détester • These verbs are often followed by an infinitive to express what one likes or does not like to do Example: J’aime danser. I love to dance Il adore chanter. He adores singing Nous détestons passer des examens We hate taking tests

  4. You can make them negative too • Je n’aime pas regarder la télé • I don’t like to watch TV • Note – the verbs aimer, adorer and détester are conjugated to agree with the subject. • Whatever you like or don’t like to do is left with the –ER on the end!
