  3. A brief history • Office 365 Groups are a great way to collaborate • Shared conversations, calendar, file repository enhance teams’ productivity • Used by millions of Office 365 users, and growing rapidly • But most groups are private • That makes it hard for notifications from external services to reach them • At //build 2016 we unveiled Connectors in Groups • A native way to “connect” to activity feeds from external services • A built-in, centralized management UI for all feeds with granularity – receive notifications for what really matters • A simple and elegant card format that presents notifications in a consistent, at-a-glance way

  4. Office 365 Connectors in Groups Project and productivity • A catalog of ~90+ connectors Wunderlist Trello Asana Customer relationship Zendesk Salesforce MSFT Dynamics And many more… • Consume in all Groups clients • OWA, Outlook, Groups mobile app • A platform for implementing custom connectors • Webhook + polling architecture, OAuth for access control • JSON-based card format • Developer portal to implement and submit your own connectors News and social Twitter RSS Bing News Visual Studio Webhook Github Developer tools

  10. Going one step further • Groups are a shared space • Group connectors are great when notifications benefit everyone in the group • Users don’t just work in groups • The inbox remains the place where most work is done for many • We all get lots of automated system emails, but… • They are either too frequent or not enough • They contain too much information or not enough, and it’s not really actionable • So we’re bringing Connectors to the inbox (preview) • Now individual users are in control of the notification streams they receive • Powered by Actionable Messages, just like in groups
