JET ENGINE PROPULSION Chapter 11 Engine Instrumentation
Engine Instrumentation All the engine parameters have to be monitored to ensure the limitations are not exceeded. Therefore gauges are used to monitor the readings and warning lights are used as attention getters to indicate failure of a system. The main engine parameters to be monitored are: Engine Power (EPR, Torque, P7) Engine RPM (LP Shaft (N2), HP Shaft (N1)) Engine Gas Temperature (EGT,TIT). Engine Oil Temperature Engine Oil Pressure Fuel Flow
Engine Instrumentation RR RB211 Power – Exhaust Power Ratio (EPR) RPM – HP Shaft Turbine Gas Temperature RPM - Fan Master Warning Light Panel Fuel Flow
Engine Instrumentation Allison T-56 Power - Torque - Measures twist of shaft. RPM - Propeller Temperature- TIT Turbine Inlet Temperature Fuel Flow Oil Pressure Oil Temperature Oil Quantity Oil Cooler Flap Position
Engine Instrumentation Flat Screen Engine Instruments
Engine Instrumentation VC10 Conway Power – P7 Pressure (In Exhaust) Reverse Power System Unlocked RPM – HP Shaft Temperature – Exhaust Gas (Measured in Exhaust) RPM - LP Shaft Oil Pressure and Temperature Engine Cooling Air Overheat Warning Oil Low Pressure Warning
