1. SETS • Well defined collection of things of all objects is called sets. Example • 5 best students in India (Not well defined) • 1, 2, 3, 4…………… (Well defined ) • All students of this school (Well defined)

2. REPRESENTATION OF SETS N = {1, 2, 3, 4 ………………} 1, 2, 3, …………… are element. A = {a, e, i, o, u} • N , -1 N, a N, a A = Belongs to = Does not belongs to

3. There are two methods for representing a set 1.roaster or tabular form ex.N={1,2,3...} 2. Set builder form ex.N={x:x is a natural number}

4. Types of sets • Empty sets: A set which does not contain any element is called empty sets.It is denoted by or { }. ex.A={x:x is a even prime number}
