Aims • The aims of this module are: • To examine the various models for business. • To develop skills in writing business plans and forecasts. • To investigate the role technology can play in starting and operating an business.
Learning outcomes • After completing the module students should be able to: • Create a detailed business plan for a new start-up business (or to make substantial changes to an existing business). • Describe appropriate technology components that are essential to the successful operation of business. • Present business ideas in a clear and precise manner.
Assessment details • The assessment involves writing a detailed business plan either for the creation of a brand new business start-up venture or an expansion of an existing business (where the planned expansion requires substantial change to the current business). You are free to decide which of these options is best for you and both options will be assessed in the same way and carry equal marks.
