What is meant by classifying? Classification is a process categorizing something according to shared characteristics. It is mainly used in classifying animals and plants in taxonomic groups. Naming the different groups of categorization is the final part of classification.
How can we classify plants? Plants belong to the PLANT KINGDOM (PLANTAE), one of the five kingdoms of living things. Plants are classified into smaller groups, according to shared characteristics. All plants share certain features.
How can we classify animals? By comparing the features of different animals they have been able to classify them further, dividing each of the kingdoms into smaller groups.
