Hurricanes By Thomas Bielicki
What happens during this natural disaster? During this natural disaster warm moist air and warm water are mixed to create a hurricane. A hurricane is like a tornado but a little more powerful. The way you can determine if a hurricane is going to last long and how powerful it is is by measuring the distance of the “eye of the storm”. Hurricanes can rip a tree right out of the ground with no effort at all. Few people die because they are evacuated before the storm can reach them. Eye of the Storm
What causes this natural disaster? The way a hurricane is formed is by combining warm moist air and warm water. This is why most hurricanes begin in the tropics. When the warm air and the warm water combines with cooler air and water, rain clouds form and they create the beginning of a mighty storm. This cycle continues until winds start to spiral around one calm center of air, like water swirling down a drain. + =
