  2. Tools Menu • Database creation and editing commands • New Personal Database • Edit Personal Database • Search Databases • Edit Default Properties Database • Import Legacy Moldflow Materials • Import Legacy C-MOLD Materials

  3. New Personal Database • Default folder \udb under Projects folder • As defined during software installation • Enter database name • Code number gets appended based on property type • Select Category • Select Property Type

  4. Edit Database • Open the database to edit • Default folder \udb under Projects folder • Database has code number defining the type

  5. Edit Database • Copy information from another DB • Click Database button • Highlight data to copy • Click Copy button • Edit • Delete • Duplicate

  6. Edit Database • Edit/change data as necessary

  7. Search Database • Select database category and property type • Select the actual database • Same search facility as used for picking materials to run an analysis

  8. Edit Default Properties Database • Database contains all the default values used in MPI • Can be edited to change default values

  9. Import Legacy Materials • Used to import materials from • CM2K • MPI 2.0 • Converts data as necessary to get it into MPI 6.0

  10. Edit Material Data • If editing material data, care must be given to prevent creating incorrect data

  11. Using Personal Databases • Name of personal database will be listed in the manufacturer list

  12. Using Personal Databases • Search results list materials from standard locations • Standard …\Data\udb • User My MPI … Projects\udb • Click folder icon to browse network to open database

  13. Using Personal Databases • For personal databases other than plastic • Click the Select button • Choose the User data or • Click the file open icon and specifically open a file

  14. Practice • Create a personal thermoplastics DB • Add material to the DB • Edit a material parameter
