2. July 23th - LAST WEEK’S HIGHLIGHTS Make a difference. Change the world one child and one community at a time. INVOCATION MCPO John Duffy USN, Naval Science Instructor, NJROTC Jacksonville Kiwanis are teaming up to fund a 3-day field trip for Sri Lanka children who survived the 2004 tsunami that devastated coastal areas of Sri Lanka. Deerwood Kiwanis Club members have pledged $200 and are challenging other local Kiwanis Clubs and individuals to step up to the plate and pledge so these unfortunate children in Sri Lanka can broaden their vision of the world around them. Brad Davis(left) gave his farewell message as Lt. Gov. of Division 5. The new Twinning project was discussed, which involves developing relationships with clubs in other countries. KIWANIS EDUCATION SPOT Kiwanis continues its service emphasis of “Young Children: Priority One,” which focuses on the special needs of children from prenatal development to age 5.
