6. Polypoid Cystitis: • Resulting from irritation to the bladder mucosa usually by indwelling catheters. • The urothelium is thrown into broad polypoid projections as a result of marked submucosal edema.
7. Chronic cystitis: • Due to persistent infection. • The mucosa appears red, friable, granular, sometimes with ulcerated surface and fibrous thickening of the wall with consequent inelasticity of the bladder wall.
*Def:inflammation of the renal pelvis and renal interstitium. * Predisposing factors: • D.M • Urinary tract obstruction • Females: due to short wide urethra • Congenital vesico-uretral reflux • Immunosuppression.
* Organism:E. coli (most common), staph, pseudomonas * Routes: • Ascending. • Haematogenous (rare).
