Our Mission We partner with working local families to build better futures through our unique home ownership program.
Faith in Action for 70+ years! • The concept that grew into Habitat for Humanity was born at Koinonia Farm, a small, interracial, Christian community in Georgia, founded in 1942 by farmer and biblical scholar Clarence Jordan; • Millard and Linda Fuller founded the Habitat for Humanity movement in 1976 in Georgia, built on the idea of partnership housing; • In March 1984, President and Mrs. Carter worked with Habitat in Americus, Georgia. This led up to their long-term involvement having helped build, renovate and repair over 3,900 homes! • Habitat for Humanity gives a hand up to those in need by working side by side with them to build safe, decent and affordable houses; • Building on our Christian foundation, we serve and work with people of all faiths and beliefs in a spirit of justice and compassion. • Habitat success can be seen today in the 56 affiliates in Canada and 1,400 worldwide!
