Who We Are • Chartered 1921 in Macon, Georgia • Founded by Elizabeth Leonard and 40 local business women, energized by the women’s suffrage movement • “Pilot” name inspired by mighty riverboat pilots of the day who represented leadership and guidance
Our Mission • Our MISSION is to influence positive change in communities throughout the world • TO DO THIS we come together in friendship and give people an outlet for service • WE FOCUS ON • Preparing youth and young adults for service • Encouraging brain safety and health • Supporting those who care for others
Pilot International Founders Fund • 501C-3 • Supports the community-based work of Pilot Clubs by helping to underwrite their efforts to serve in our focus areas • Provides scholarships that support graduate and undergraduate students working in fields related to our focus areas
Compass Clubs • Young professionals division of Pilot • Ages 18-26 (18-28 for Japanese young adults) • Stepping stone from Anchor to full membership in Pilot

BrainMinders™ • Signature Pilot International program introduced in 2001 • Enhanced in 2017 for Pilots and Anchors to use in their communities • Educational and entertaining curriculum for children, youth and older adults • Covers broad span of brain health and safety topics: • Personal fitness • Bus safety • Playground safety • Seat belt use • Fire safety • Gun safety • Bullying • Brain exercises

Starting a new club • It just takes 5 members to charter a new Pilot club • An existing Pilot Club will enthusiastically be your sponsor!

Clubs • 321 Pilot Clubs • 6,713 Pilot Club members Clubs and Districts generally divide their efforts into these areas: Membership Fundraising Projects Anchor/Compass (youth) Leadership
How clubs operate • Bylaws posted on Pilot International website • Multiple other resources offered there • Club year is July 1-June 30 • $25 one time initiation fee • $60/year dues • $6/year insurance • Clubs have at least 6 meetings/year; most have monthly schedule • Lunch, evening, weekends (each club is unique!)
Getting Together • Annual International Convention • End of June/beginning of July each year • Fun, fellowship and business • Each club entitled to one delegate and one alternate, for voting purposes • District Spring and Fall Conventions/Councils • Executive Committee members assigned to participate at District level • Much opportunity to interact and share ideas throughout the year!
