Why Pope was against Heliocentrism • Since the Son of God descended from heaven onto Earth, it makes sense that the Earth is at the center of the universe. • Literal translations of the Bible supported the Earth being at the center: 1 Chronicles 16:30, Psalm 93:1, Psalm 96:10, Psalm 104:5, Ecclesiastes 1:5
