  1. Sango Elementary Monday, December 5, 2011 Reading Students will be studying poetry this week. We will be reading and discussing poetry that uses the power words listed. We will have poetry assessment on Friday. The poetry power words are: line, stanza, rhyme, rhyming pattern, alliteration, hyperbole, imagery, personification, simile, metaphor, and repetition. Language Arts Students will be assessed over plurals and possessives and troublesome words Thursday and Friday. Math Today we will write out numbers with exponents and solve. Students will calculate the greatest common factors of a set of numbers and find the least common multiples of a set of numbers. Math Superstars lesson VIII is Monday and lesson IX is due by Friday, December 9th. Last test for the grading quarter will be Tuesday, December 13th Science Students will participate in a culminating STEM challenge that will address many of the standards taught in the second quarter. We will review conduction, convection, and radiation as well as gravity and force. Social Studies Students will have a test over chapter 4 tomorrow, Tuesday, December 6. We will begin chapter 5 and we will also review key concepts of the civil war. • JUST A REMINDER… • Thursday, December 8th is the Holiday musical at 6:45 p.m. • Benchmark II testing will be December 12-16. Please plan for your child to be hear promptly each morning to test. • Holiday Parties – December 19 @1:30. More information coming soon. • Wish List- If you are able to donate to the classroom, Mrs. Harper could use antibacterial Lysol wipes and pencils. Thank you.
