Anasazi 1500 BC • They lived in cliff dwellings to protect themselves against their enemies. • They lived in the four corners of America. • They built pueblos out of adobe • They built kivas which were underground ceremonial chambers. • They were skilled basket makers • They grew maize, beans, and squash

  4. Hopewell after 1000 BC • They lived along the Mississippi, Ohio, and lower Missouri river valleys. • They had a large population with agriculture and trade. • They declined by 700 AD.
